Wait Well

Waiting. A word that we don't want to hear a lot and we don't want to do a lot of if we would be truthful. Let's admit it...it can be hard to wait! It's hard to wait in a long line at the store or restaurant (especially when you're hungry or tired!). Once you get seated at the restaurant, it can be hard to wait for your order of food to come. It's hard to wait for an answer from someone you left or sent a message to. It can be hard to wait on the results of your health or a score on a test you have taken recently. While we're waiting, we may start to get impatient, worry, fuss, complain, overthink or just think the worse. Thinking about the worst brings about the what if questions, which we should try not to entertain or dwell on. We might also starting thinking how unfair it is that we have to wait. Just like it can be hard to wait in all the situations listed above, it can be hard to wait on God too. We know what God's Word says. We know He sees and kn...

Covered!

He will cover you with His feathers. He will shelter you with His wings. His faithful promises are your armor and protection. Psalm 91:4 NLT First of all, I have to begin by saying that I love the New Living Translation version of this verse! In this verse, it refers to God and his Word covering us. God is so big and so wide that He covers the whole world and each of us in it. It is so amazing to know that God has us covered! When we are covered, we are protected and taken care of. Nothing is left uncovered when God is covering it. Not only does He cover us as people, but He also covers our situations and concerns. So, let's stop for a minute and think about an umbrella. When we know it's raining outside or the weather forecast calls for rain, we take an umbrella along. Then, when it starts to rain, we can hold up our umbrella and know that we are covered. The umbrella keeps the rain from getting on us. It gives us a sense of safety. While we may see and even hear the rain as...

Bloom Where You Are Planted

When you think of the word bloom, you may think of newness of life, growth, springtime, flowers. In looking more closely at the word though, we see bloom is a verb (remember a verb is an action word!). Bloom is an action word that means to grow or develop successfully. Yes, flowers do bloom. However, flowers are not the only things that bloom. We as people can bloom too! We have to learn to bloom right where we are. At the current job we have, we can bloom. At the school or college we attend, we can bloom. At the place we currently live at, we can bloom. God has us at the place He has us right now for a reason. He wants us to bloom right where we are. The people who are crossing our path right now is for a reason. Whether it's by way of social media or face-to-face contact, be thankful for those interactions and connections. We should be encouraged and encouraging others during those interactions. The right interactions will help us bloom. When we bloom where we are planted, we are...
