Release!
Release means to let go, to be free. Release means no longer being bound or held down by something. When something or someone is released, they experience freedom. Have you ever seen doves be released into the sky before? Well, I have had the opportunity to see it before and it was a beautiful scene! The white doves were confined at first, but as soon as the person opened the cage, the white doves flew out and were all over the place in the sky. The doves were free to fly wherever they wanted. They were no longer bound to the cage they were in. We too have to learn to release in our lives. I have to constantly work on this every day! We have to let go of people that mean us no good. If the person is not helping us, we need to release them. We can still love them, but they don't have to be in our circle or in our crew. All connections are not healthy and God will show us what's healthy and what's not healthy. If the connections are one-sided and not helping us moving forward or encouraging us, we need to let it go. Once we know, we won't keep running back to the same unhealthy relationships. We also need to let go of unhealthy habits. We know those things we do that are not good, but it's comfortable and familiar, so we keep doing it. We need to ask God to help us stop the unhealthy habits and give them to God. We also need to release wrong thoughts in our mind. Our mind controls a lot! We can think of our mind as a control center. It controls all the thoughts we have. Wrong thoughts will not help us move forward. In fact, they will take us backward if we let them. Wrong thoughts need to be counteracted with what the Word says. So when those negative thoughts try to come, we have to think and speak what God's Word says instead. We go through so much in life that things can weigh us down. Those are burdens that God does not want us to carry. When we're weighed down, we can't stand or sit up straight and we walk with a slouch. God wants us to use good posture and be free of that weight. We can release those weights and burdens we've been carrying- weights of the past, what people have said or are saying about us, our mistakes, hurts, unbelief, doubt. They can all be dropped at God's feet and not picked up again. Our problem is we keep picking it back up! I Peter 5:7 says, "Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you." We can't let unbelief keep us from what God has for us. Yes, we all have flaws, but they will keep us boxed in if we let them.. Those wrong thoughts can and need to be released today and every day. Our minds need to renewed daily (Romans 12:2). Replace the wrong thoughts with new thoughts- we are worthy, loved, going to make it. Each day, we have to release our day to God and ask Him to do what He wants to do in and through us. He knows what we need to do, where we need to be, and who we need to see in each day. So it's okay...release! Breathe in a new day, new opportunities, new connections. Let go of the old and embrace the new. When we release, we leave room for what's new, healthy, and beautiful to come in. It's time to release!
