Get Your Move On

Do you ever have those days where you don't feel like doing much of anything?! You just want to sit around and do nothing. With being home more now, I know it's tempting! You know how it is when you just start to get comfortable. Let me give you an example..you're just getting settled in sitting in your favorite chair or on the couch. Then, all of a sudden, you hear someone calling your name to get up and get something for them! You think (and may say out loud!), "Really? I just sat down and was just starting to get comfortable. Now I have to get up again!" Does that scenario sound familiar?! Can you relate? Just 5 minutes is all you were asking, right?! I  hear you! Now let's think back to the question I asked at the beginning of the post. We all have those moments and days where we would like to sit and do nothing. Instead of days, what about life itself? Have you ever had moments in life that made you not want to go on? The issues and pressures of life paralyzed you so much that you didn't think you could go on another day, another step even. You felt like quitting on life itself. Is there anybody with me? I know I have felt that way before. When it seems hopeless though, we can know that there's still hope. There's hope in God. He's right here with us. When it seems like we can't take another step or move another muscle, God will step in and give us strength (II Corinthians 12:9). It's not what someone told me; it's what I know to be true in my own life. He's the only reason I'm still standing through everything I'm going through. He's the only reason I haven't lost my mind. He's Able! He can and will give you strength like no other. Every day, we have to keep moving on. It's okay to take a break during your days as breaks are definitely needed! Breaks refresh us, renew us and help get us back on track. We can't go, go, go and have no breaks. We will definitely wear ourselves out quick! Schedule intentional breaks and follow through with them. Taking breaks is good, but quitting and giving up completely is not. Whatever you do, don't quit on life. I know this quarantine season looks dark, scary and overwhelming with things changing all the time, but we have to keep going each day. Taking baby steps forward is still taking steps forward. We have to do the best we can. There's too much greatness in us. There's too much potential in us. We have to encourage each other to keep going. There's one verse I want to focus on and that's Philippians 3:14. It says, "I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus." When you press towards something, that means you move towards it. We have to focus on putting one foot in front of the other and keep going forward. That's how we get to our destination. When runners run in a race, their goal is to get to the finish line, so that's the way they're looking. They know if they keep going, they'll get there. They have a goal and want to accomplish it. As we move forward in life, we have to be thankful, find the good, do the best we can and know we're not alone. With every step forward, we get closer to our goals. We will reach all that God has planned for us to get. Don't give up on your goals whatever they may be today. They are important. It's not just about us. God needs us. Our families need us. Our co-workers need us.  Our friends need us. Our neighbors needs us. Our followers on social media need us. They're saying if they can keep going, then I can too. You never know who is watching  you and who you're encouraging. Take your breaks and rest, but don't quit. Get your move on!

  1. Quitting is not an option and thanks Jennifer for your blog. If I had given up, there are those that won't be saved today. I have a friend that told me that when I wad born again, they watched me a long time to see if my walk in Christ was real. Here said that I didn't disappoint him. I'm glad today that I did not give up. It's really time to Get our move on! Never give up, somebody's watching you!
