Walk It Out

I love walking! Walking involves movement. Walking involves taking steps forward. It is an easy and fun way to exercise. I love walking laps by myself in my yard. I love walking with my cousin. I love doing indoor walking workouts from YouTube. All keep me engaged and going! They can leave me tired and needing breaks too! There are definitely times when I have to discipline myself and be more intentional. There are times I have to tell myself, "Okay- you've been sitting too long. It's time to get up and moving." But, I am learning to become more consistent in my walks and I feel so much healthier and happier about it! Once you find what works for you, stick with it. Your workout may look different than mine and that's okay. As long as you're up and moving and get some type of physical activity in, that's what counts. When we sit too long, our muscles begin to get stiff and tight. We start to get sluggish. And I don't know about you, but I need to be he...

How Well Do You Know Yourself?

What's your favorite color? food? sport to watch or play? game to play? What type of books do you like to read and movies you like to watch? What music do you like to listen to? What are your likes and dislikes? Are you more of an outdoors person or an indoor person? What are your strengths and weaknesses? Who is your role model and why? These are questions we should be able to answer about ourselves. A lot to think about, right?! In this season of quarantine and stay at home orders, we have time to think about these questions. If we didn't know the answers before quarantine, we should be finding them out now. You see, God knows us very well! He knows every detail about our lives. That's not just a select few, but everyone in the whole world. That's a lot of people! Psalm 139:1 tells us that God has searched us and knows us. He knows when we sit down, when we get up, what we're thinking and what we're going to say before we say it (v.2-4). That's awesome! It...

Glow+Grow+Go

My motto. This is the motto God gave me last year. Now, I'm going to be very honest here. With everything that went on in my life in the middle of 2019 and especially this year of 2020, I have doubted this motto several times. The middle of 2019 was rough for me in having unhealthy connections and emotionally hurting. This year of 2020, our family has lost three family members on my Mom's side, including my Mom, Aunt and Grandfather. We lost them all within 6 months of each other. In other words, it all happened during the first half of 2020. Then, the pandemic happened in March, which has brought its own challenges. And yes..I'm still standing and still here writing away because only God is getting me and my family through!! It hurts and there are days where it feels unreal and I'm like "God, can I really still glow, grow and go through everything I'm going through right now?" Can I really with all that I have had go on and feeling like my world has turne...

People of Worship

POW. People of Worship. That's what kind of people God is looking for. He's not looking for people of drama, people of gossip, people of confusion, people of pride. He's looking for people of worship. Worship is a word you hear a lot at church on Sunday morning in regards to the worship team or worship songs. We should worship God in songs. But it's more than a Sunday morning word. It should be an every day word. It should be a part of our every day life. It should be a part of who we are. When we worship someone or something, that means we honor and respect them. We should worship with sincerity. We should worship with pure and right motives. We show recognition when we worship. God wants us to worship Him every day, not just on Sundays or a day we have a church-related event . You may be thinking...how do I do that? It starts with acknowledging and honoring God every day. It's thanking God for who He is- Creator, Provider, Protector, Father and much more. Listen t...
