People of Worship
POW. People of Worship. That's what kind of people God is looking for. He's not looking for people of drama, people of gossip, people of confusion, people of pride. He's looking for people of worship. Worship is a word you hear a lot at church on Sunday morning in regards to the worship team or worship songs. We should worship God in songs. But it's more than a Sunday morning word. It should be an every day word. It should be a part of our every day life. It should be a part of who we are. When we worship someone or something, that means we honor and respect them. We should worship with sincerity. We should worship with pure and right motives. We show recognition when we worship. God wants us to worship Him every day, not just on Sundays or a day we have a church-related event . You may be thinking...how do I do that? It starts with acknowledging and honoring God every day. It's thanking God for who He is- Creator, Provider, Protector, Father and much more. Listen to worship songs throughout your day that talk about God and who He is. I have been doing that a lot lately and it's very helpful for me. It's been making a big difference! I do my best to listen to songs in the morning, throughout my day and at night. It will help start and end your day with God. While cooking, cleaning, writing, exercising or other activities you do, you can put on some music that would be helpful. We need to recognize that it's God who allows us to live each day and do the things we do. We need to acknowledge Him in prayer and talk to Him throughout our day. We also worship God in how we act and behave. We should live in a way that honors and pleases God. Romans 12:2 talks about renewing our mind so we can do what is pleasing to Him. Our thoughts need to honor God, so they can lead to right actions and behavior. The Word of God is our guide for right living. Let's make sure we're getting in the Word and doing our best to apply it in our lives. We need to worship God every day. God wants consistency in worship. We need to act the same every single day. We can't act a certain way one day and then the rest of the week do what we want. God wants the same you on Monday- Saturday as he does on Sunday. Worship is a lifestyle. When something is part of our lifestyle, we do it often. It's consistent. That's what we have to be about. Pleasing and honoring God. Let's goooo....people of worship!
