Be Still

I know...we do a lot of moving in our day! We can get a lot of steps in and that's a good thing 😊. Intentional physical movement throughout our day helps us to move our muscles and body and stretch.  Leading up to summer break, I moved to a new classroom. I'm still teaching 6th grade English, but in a different classroom. There was lots of back and forth movement to take items from my old class to my new class on the back hall. With lots of help, I got moved in! Even in the back and forth between the halls, I reminded myself to sit and stand for a minute. It was okay to be still. God worked everything out! It's the same in our lives. God will work everything out! Yes, there are times and moments that we need to move and be intentional about it. Yet, we also need to have moments of intentional stillness. We need moments where we sit and stand still. This could be in the morning, afternoon, or night or during all three times. Whenever we choose to have that moment, it's okay and necessary 😊. In the stillness, we can have a time of reflection. We can reflect over our situation, life, day, week, month, or year so far. In the stillness, we can appreciate and be thankful for what we have and who we have in our lives. God has allowed us to do what we do and we need to give him thanks. He's the reason we are still here and have what we have!  In the stillness, we can have guidance and clarity on decisions we need to make, big and small. In the stillness, we can have the opportunity to soak up the present moment 😊. Instead of rushing to the next moment, why not enjoy the moment we have right now?! In the stillness, we can block out distractions and step away from our phones. Don't worry- those messages and social media posts will still be there when you get back. The stillness allows us to "be" and not always focus on the "do." As of June 11th, I started my summer break and I'm so grateful!! One of the things I love to do in my time of stillness is to watch movies 😊. You know what my go-to movies are right now?! Old movies and animated movies! Yes, you heard correct 😊. Today, I did something I hadn't done in a long time...I treated myself to a manicure and pedicure at the nail salonπŸ’œ!! I went to a new salon, and it was the best!! I got colors I normally don't get. My manicure color glows in the dark 😊!! Of course, I had to be still, and it was perfect. It was an amazing and relaxing experience. It will definitely not be my last time going there! It's the start of a new chapter for me 😊!! I want to leave you with a Scripture in Psalm 46:10 that says, "Be still and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations; I will be exalted in the earth." God is everywhere and wants to meet you in the stillness, as well as the movement. So, take a few minutes today to be still. It will be well worth it! God bless you all πŸ’œ!!
