Today

"Cherish yesterday, Dream tomorrow, Live today." -Richard Bach

24 hours. 1, 440 minutes. 86, 400 seconds. Today. Yesterday is gone. Tomorrow is not promised. Today is all we have. What will you do today? What will you say? Who will you see? How will you handle what comes your way? None of us knows what a day will bring. At any given moment, our day can change. Situations can change quickly. Only God knows what is going to happen before we do. We should begin each day by giving thanks to God. Psalms 118:24 says, "This is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it." Throughout the day, we should remain thankful. We can even say what we're thankful for aloud and write down or meditate at the end of the day what we are thankful for. Now, I know some of us like to fast forward in our minds to what's going to happen (I'm guilty!), but we have to work on focusing on the present moment in front of us. Those moments will never come again. Therefore, they and the people we spend those moments with should be cherished, appreciated and valued. There's nothing wrong with looking ahead with future expectations and planning, but it should not overwhelm or overtake the present moments. Being present should be the goal. Do your best to focus on today. Today, be you. Today, show love. Today, be kind. Today, only say what is going to uplift and not tear down. Today, post only what's necessary and helpful.  Today, reach out and check on that family member or friend. Today, embrace the opportunities that come your way to learn or see or do something new. Today, take time for you. Today, stay away from anything that is draining. Today, leave space to rest. Leave space to reflect. Leave space to reset and refocus. Leave space to breathe. When people step into your presence today, create a safe space for them to be themselves. At the end of the day, being genuine shines through above all else. Don't forget to be kind to yourself. Give grace to yourself. Forgive yourself. Only focus on what you can do today. It's all we have. May we give our best and know that's enough. May we cherish and live our best day today. May this be our daily goal as we enter a new year. From my family to yours, Happy New Year and may this be your best year yetπŸ’–πŸ˜€!!!
