Look Around

Stop right where you are for a moment. What sights and sounds do you see and hear? Who do you notice? What are you doing at this current moment? These are questions we should ask ourselves daily. We live in a world where many of us are in such a hurry to get to the next that we forget about what's in front of us. I know I have to constantly remind myself to focus on what I'm doing and who I'm with at this present moment 💙. My mind wants to be on the million other things I have coming up instead of focusing on what's in front of me. I'm learning that it's okay to plan ahead and prepare, while at the same time not neglecting the current task in front of me. If we do neglect it, we won't be able to give our best and feel rushed. I'm learning to purposefully tell myself aloud or think in my thoughts what I'm doing in that present moment to keep me on track. I'm also learning to finish one task completely before moving to the next task. If not, I'll start one thing and jump to something else and that turns into feeling overwhelmed real quick. So today, I want to take time to encourage you and I to notice the sights, sounds, people and activities right where we are. Look around 😊. Notice the sunset and sunrise in the sky. When my cousin and I were walking the high school track a while back, we noticed the sunset that was so beautiful and made for a lovely backdrop in the sky 💛. Just yesterday, we had another beautiful sunset that was shining through the window of our house. Notice the birds chirping and the wind blowing. Notice what is taking place and how you can take part to enjoy and embrace the moment. Notice what we should be thankful for and express that. Notice who is around you so you can help or make a difference in some way. Notice the one that may need a smile, a word of encouragement, a conversation to engage in, a compliment or your presence. Ephesians 4:29 in the Scriptures talks about  our words and how they should build others up. Today, let's take time to notice what we're doing and what we're not doing. Let's make sure we focus on our present moment and do our best in that. Let's notice what and who is right in front of us. Let's add value to where we are.   Notice the bright and dull spots in our day and make any necessary changes for the better. Let's time to look around in our day. May our thoughts and actions be in step with each other daily. May we never forget to look around right where we are 💙😊. God bless!
