Let the Light Lead
At one time or another, all of us have followed someone before. It could have been that someone showed us how to get to our certain destination. We could have been playing the game Follow the Leader, where we imitated the actions of the leader π. With our society being more technology driven now, we can follow people's pages on social media. We can see the latest post and messages of those we follow. On the flip side of this, we all have been a leader in some way. We all have had someone look up to us at school, in our family, our friend circle, in a community organization, or following our social media page. If we have ever played Follow the Leader that was mentioned earlier, we may have been the leader. In any case, who we follow is important. How we lead is also important. A leader should know the way and show the way. In other words, a leader should live a good example for others to follow in words, actions, attitudes, and motives. People are watching and most importantly, God is always watching us (Proverbs 15:3). When we look more closely at what a leader is, they are a person who guides and inspires others π. That should be all of us. Some people may have an official leadership title, which is fine, but in reality, all of us lead in some way. So, when people see us, do they want to follow us or are they running the other way? Do we inspire others or put others down? None of us are perfect, but we should all strive to do our best to please God and live with integrity and honesty π. Our lifestyle should send a clear message of how we live and who we're living for. When we think about the light, it allows us to see things clearly. Think about walking into a dark room, but the minute you turn the light on, you can see what and who is in the room very clear. God wants us to walk in the light π. We see that David in the Bible knew the importance of that when he stated in II Samuel 22:29: "Lord, you are my lamp; the Lord illuminates my darkness.". What's the light, you may ask? It's the Word of God!! Psalms 119:105 says, "Your word is a lamp for my feet and light on my path." That's the light that should be leading us π. When our words and actions line up with the Word of God, then we can honor God and lead and inspire others in the right way. Let God's Word be in front of us in decisions we make, places we go, and people we connect with. Let it always be in front of us π. God's Word is the truth and the truth will lead when we let God's Word lead. So, let's check our actions, words, attitudes, and motives daily to the Word. Let's make Psalms 43:3 our daily prayer : "Send your light and your truth; let them lead me." When we let the light lead, we can't go wrong! May God bless you all π!!
