Dear 2024
I made it to see another year through! I'm so grateful to God for that 💖! I've had ups, downs, challenges, moments I wanted to give up, wins, and wonderful opportunities to experience life to the fullest. In all the seasons I experienced, lessons were learned. I attended family and friend gatherings, a paint party, a musical, wedding, baby shower, gender reveal, art classes, sporting events, and community events 😊. I visited new places and had new experiences and adventures. I saw places I had visited before from a whole new perspective. I kept taking care of me and getting regular checkups. I did have surgery that was successful. I read a variety of fiction and nonfiction books. I made new connections with some as well as reconnecting with others I hadn't talked to for a while. I saw one school year end and another school year begin. I continued to teach English and lead the Bible Club at the middle school I'm at 😊. I continued to serve in my church and community. In April, I got to explore Richmond, Virginia through new eyes on a trolley. It was amazing 💖!! It was a wonderful experience with my family and friends that was topped off by visiting a new restaurant, Croaker's Spot. Excellent place!! For the first time ever in June, I was able to visit New York with my cousin (White Plains and Yonkers to be exact!). That was a state I wanted to visit for a while 😊. I got to shop, sight see and enjoy family! I had so much fun and will forever cherish the memories there! With my surgery in July, I learned I can go through hard things 🙏. God never left my side through it all! I'm so glad for the support, encouragement, and help that God sent along the way. It wasn't easy, especially the first few days with walking and my stomach being sensitive, which is where my stitches were at. Over time, it became less painful and everything has healed nicely. Now, I do have to still be mindful not to overdo things. I'm so grateful for the reminders that come my way about that too 😊. In August, I was able to visit Lake Gaston, North Carolina for the first time with family. I had visited North Carolina in the past, but not that area. It was so much fun and very relaxing and peaceful on the water 💖. The boat ride topped it all off! In November, our choir got organized back at church and we sung for a service. That was great! It was bittersweet for me also as Momma would have been on there if she could have singing her soprano 💜. I miss hearing her beautiful voice! It did feel good to be back on the choir again, and I can't wait for more opportunities for our choir to sing! At the beginning of December, I was able to visit nursing home residents with Bible Club as we sung Christmas songs to them. That was a very special trip 😊!! Also in December, I got to spend time with family and friends for the holidays 💖. I enjoyed seeing Christmas lights, playing games, seeing movies, visiting others, and having new restaurant experiences. These last few weeks of December have been such a great way to wrap up the year! I learned so much from you 2024, but here's a few I want to highlight :
1. Don't be afraid to ask questions.
2. Go with the flow as everything doesn't have to be perfect.
3. Take time out to show people you care.
4. Always make time for fun!
5. Don't give up on working towards goals.
6. Keep blogging- someone needs to hear the message 💖!
These lessons are definitely going with me in 2025 😊. Thank you God for everything!! Thank you 2024 for teaching me a lot and allowing me to grow and blossom 💖😊. A big thank you to everyone who has been on the journey with me - you are appreciated more than you know 😄!! I can't wait to see what 2025 brings and the new memories that will be made 💖!! Happy New Year and see you in 2025 💖!!
Amen, Amen, Amen Beautiful 💕💞
