Get Up and Moving!
In our day to day routine, the amount of times we move may vary. Since every day can be different, this may look different on different days. Some days, there may be times that we do a lot of sitting. Other days, we may be so on the go that we wish we had time to sit! You know those days you feel like the Energizer Bunny and you keep going and going? However, have you thought about moving intentionally? Have you thought about moving with purpose at some point in your day? Just like other actions in our life (talk, eat, sleep), we should also move with purpose 😊. This means intentionally setting aside 10, 15, 20 minutes or 1 hour of our time to exercise. Since there are many different exercises, this will look different for everyone and that's okay! There are so many ways to exercise! One of my favorite ways to exercise is walking 😊. I love fitness walking videos, walking outdoors in nature or walking on a track 💜. Walking is just one form of exercise. There's also jogging, swimming, dancing, skating, biking, just to name a few. They all have in common the fact that your body is moving and helping you stay healthy. In order to get the most out of life and feel focused, we need to be energetic. When you're low on energy, it's hard to do your best and think clearly. I know I find that true for me! Exercise helps us regroup, reset, and be energized. Exercise helps boost your mood, keep your heart healthy, keep your muscles active, and have you feeling good all over. When I have let too much days pass without exercise, let me tell you, my mind and body can tell! I don't think clearly and my body feels sluggish. So, whether it's an outdoor walk or a walking video, I have to get it in 💜! Now, there is a fun exercise that I used to do a lot when I was younger that I want to start doing again 😉. Can you guess what exercise that may be?! Jump roping 😊!! I used to have so much fun doing it. I found some of my jump ropes while I was cleaning a while back. So, if you see me jump roping soon, you'll know why 💙. You might as well have fun while you exercise! I do have fun while walking 😊. When you can exercise with someone else or let them know you want to be more consistent with exercise, it's even better. That adds accountability and even more fun! I love when I get to walk with my cousins, whether it's the local high school track or hiking trail 😊💙. So whether it's walking, aerobics, dancing, or jump roping, start finding ways to move on purpose. Start by exercising 5-10 minutes 3 days a week and increase as the days go on. I love exercise as it has so many benefits. It helps me so much! I wasn't as consistent with my walking when I started the new school year, but I got back on track. Find time to exercise. That's my encouragement today! We only get one body, so let's take care of it well 🙏💜. Maybe you're already exercising. That's great- keep it up! If haven't been as consistent or started like you should, today is the day to do that! You don't have to wait until the New Year. You can start moving on purpose now and carry it into the New Year.
