Actions Speak Loud

There's a popular saying that many of us have heard before that says, "Actions speak louder than words." It's so true! Many times, we communicate a whole message without saying a word. When I was in undergraduate studies in college, I took a communications class, which was very interesting and enlightening. I remember how we talked about the importance of nonverbal communication and our body language. How we sit, stand, and walk all send a message. I may have shared this before, but when I was younger, I used to slouch a lot. Now, I don't slouch as much. Every now and then, I catch myself doing it and change my posture. When we stand and sit up straight, it displays confidence and attentiveness 😊. We're more likely to be focused when we sit up straight. Our looks send a message too! I know I need help with this one at times as I'm sure not alone 😊. Facial expressions can express approval or disapproval, shock or surprise, confusion or clarity, or joy or sadness. These can change throughout the day also! What we do in our daily routine speaks volumes. How we take care of ourselves speaks volumes. How we treat others speaks volumes. We can say we love and care for people, but our actions will tell the truth. I John 3:18 in the Bible puts it this way, "Dear children, let us not love with words or speech, but with actions and in truth." We can say we love God, but if our lifestyle isn't showing that, we need to check that. I'm learning that actions that people don't take are powerful also. Watch what they do and don't do. We also need to watch what we do and don't do. As God's children, we should be representing Him at all times πŸ™. Yes, we make mistakes and mess up. It's in those moments we confess and get it right (I John 1:9). Then, we can get back up and keep going. Our life sends a message daily to all those we interact with. We have often times communicated before we even spoke. Let's make sure our actions line up with what God's Word says. Let's not just speak about serving, but let's serve. Let's not just speak about love, but let's show love. Let's not just speak about helping, but let's help. When we walk, let's walk with our head held high. One of my friends encouraged me just this week by saying don't let anyone tilt my crown. That was a powerful reminder as life happens! I'm passing that same encouragement on to you πŸ’–. When we're sitting up, let's sit up straight and be focused. . Let's make sure we're loving and helping ourselves. There's a saying that I want to leave you with that states: "May the life I live speak for me." Yes, our words can be loud. Distractions can be loud. The noise of the world can be loud. However, remember, at the end of the day, it's our actions that speak the loudest. Make sure your actions are loud in the right way. Act accordingly! Love and blessings to all!
