New View

Happy New Year everyone 💝!! We have made it to see 2026 and that is truly a blessing! Praise be to God! I am so grateful for all the new that lies ahead 😊. When thinking about a new year, it often causes us to reflect back over the previous year. In reflection, we may think about what worked and what didn't work, what we need to do more of or less of or not at all. We may think about what brought us joy and who we were around when we felt joy and could be ourselves. We may also think about what drained us and took up unnecessary space in our hearts and minds. With all of that in mind, we can move forward and choose differently. We are at a different place than we were last year. We have some experiences, lessons, and blessings that we didn't have this time last year. We have a new view 😊. To view is the ability to see something or be seen from a particular place. It's being able to see or look at something with a certain attitude. As we continue to move into this new year, let's view it with the eyes of God. Let's view each day with being grateful. Being grateful will take you a long way! Let's keep God's Word in view. That's our road map to living right. That's what will help us choose different habits and attitudes. Let's keep what God says about us in view. He says we are loved, enough, special, valuable, and a masterpiece 💝.  Let's view life as a gift to be cherished. Let's view each moment as an opportunity to make a new memory. In the Bible, I'm reminded of Zacchaeus who got in a tree, so he could get a better view of Jesus (Luke 19:1-10). As a classroom teacher, I stand or sit at different spots in my room to get a different view. My students know I pop up everywhere 😄!! When we take on new views, we think about things differently or notice things we didn't notice before. A new view can be a good thing! For the last few years, I have been choosing a word to focus on for that year. This year, two words kept popping in my view- Align and Clarity. I know I want clear direction from God always and set clear, healthy boundaries in all areas of my life. I only want to make decisions that line up with God's Word and standards. I only want to make decisions that line up with my values. I don't want to settle for less than the best. As I was praying, I kept seeing align in posts and I know it was the word for me. So, my word for 2026 is align 💝! I know we're used to hearing the motto, "New Year, New Me," but I want to challenge you to think "New Year, New View." What do you say?! Let's get a new view of all God wants to do in and through us. Let's get a new view of all the beautiful things that lie ahead. Let's get a new view of all the pages that have yet to be written in our story 😊. New Year, New View! May God continue to bless you 💝!!
