Surrounded By Love
We've made it midway through January 💖!! Can you believe it?! Praise God for blessing us to see this new year so far! In this season so far, I hope you have found glimmers of hope and peace. I hope you have found things and people to be thankful for 💖. January is a bittersweet, yet reflective month for me personally. I lost my Mom, my best friend, six years ago on January 18, 2020. Her birthday is January 26. Loss was not new to me as I had loss my Dad on April 14. 2002 and many other family members after that. It didn't make the loss any easier. My first real loss in my life was my Daddy and that was tough!!! My Daddy was my Math guy, my game man and the best Daddy a girl could have. Then when I lost Momma, both of my parents were gone and that hits even harder. As April 14, 2002 rocked my world, so did January 18, 2020. If either of your parents are still here, please appreciate them 😊. As I reflect back on these six years, a lot has changed. Challenges have happened, but so has growth. Hurt has happened, but so has healing. I have loss more family and church community members near and dear to my heart, but lessons continue to be learned. I'm grateful to God for how I continue to grow, heal, and thrive. As I reflect back, I see one thing that has never changed and that is love. God's love has surrounded me the whole time and I'm so grateful! In Psalm 139:5, it tells us that God is before us and behind us. God's presence has never left me and I'm grateful! Know He hasn't left you either 💖. I've also been surrounded by a wonderful community of family, friends, church, and work family who continue to show love to me and my brother. In each community I'm involved in, I can count on someone to be there. I'm grateful that I have been surrounded by love 💖. I'm learning to love myself more and I'm grateful for that. I'm grateful for God's love and the love others show me. I Corinthians 13:13 says, "And now these three remain: faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is love." Romans 8:38-39 also reminds us that nothing can separate us from God's love. Keep loving you. Keep loving God and others. I am so grateful for Momma and Daddy's love when they were here. Know you are loved always 💖. May you continue to find glimmers of hope and peace in your days. I miss my people, but I am grateful to be surrounded by love. I'm grateful for the glimmers and grateful moments I have found in past seasons and current season of my life 😊. I want to leave you with the Scripture from Psalm 125:2- "As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the Lord surrounds his people both now and forevermore." Let's hold on to the good news that we are surrounded by God's love 💖! Love and blessings to all!!
God bless you, Jen. God will never leave you or forsake you!
ReplyDeleteAmen! He sure won't! May God continue to bless you!
DeleteNo matter how long it’s been or how old the person who is reflecting is, the void of parents (& other family & friends who have passed on cannot be filled. But, remembering the time spent and love shared with them is a blanket of comfort when you need it most.
