A Woman Of Praise

Hello everyone! We have made it to the end of March 😊.  Praise God! This month, I have been highlighting different women in the Bible, and I have been loving it πŸ’—! I started with Esther, who was a voice of hope for her people. Then, I highlighted Elizabeth, who was favored and faithful to God. Next, I highlighted the widow who was a heartfelt giver πŸ’—. Today, I want to highlight a woman in the Old Testament. Today, I want to highlight Miriam 😊. Miriam was Moses and Aaron's sister. Miriam watched baby Moses when he was in a basket on the Nile River (Exodus 2:1-10). Later, when Moses was leading the people out of Egypt and they crossed the Red Sea, Miriam led the people in praising God. Praise is to say something good about someone else. We have a lot we can praise God for as we can start with the fact that we woke up this morning. That's one reason πŸ’—! In Exodus 15:20-21, we see Miriam leading the people with a timbrel (our modern tambourine) and dancing and the women followed. The Israelites' enemies were defeated! We see her singing to the Lord about the victory that just happened. Miriam knew who to give the praise to. She wasn't so quick to rush to the next blessing that she didn't stop to thank God for the current blessing. We can't forget to thank God for present blessings in our lives 😊! From the time we wake up to the moment we go to sleep, we have lots of reasons to give God praise for. Psalm 150 reminds us of how we should praise God. Just like Miriam had the musical instrument, we can also use musical instruments to praise God. There's another powerful tool we can also use to give God praise with and that's our voice! Psalm 150:6 says, "Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord." Throughout our day, we need to look for things to be grateful for. God has helped us to overcome battles, big and small. He's helped us in big and small wins. The fact that we keep putting one foot in front of the other is a win! In the good times and bad times, we have to acknowledge God and thank Him. We have to know He will bring us through. God has done so much for me and I can't even count it all!! I thank Him so much πŸ’—!!! Let's be sure to appreciate all God is doing in our lives. Miriam wasn't ashamed to praise God as she led the praise! We don't have to be ashamed in praising God. Whether that's in our lifting our hands, with music, or our voice, it all matters. Let's continue to give God praise through it all! As we are nearing the close of the month, let me share with you my March treasures:

1.At the beginning of the month, I sung with my community choir at two services we attended- I love my MGM family 😊!!

2. Spring season arrived 😊!!

3. I started my own little free library at home with books for adults and childrenπŸ’!! Jen's Little Free Library, which is Charter #220501, is officially on the Little Library Map!! My prayer is that is a blessing to my community and inspires a love of reading in all ages 😊.

4. I was able to visit local nursing home residents who always warm my heart and encourage me πŸ’!!

4. I had the opportunity to speak at my church on Palm Sunday as part of the "Seven Last Sayings of Jesus" service- my first time doing that and it was a blessing! The whole service was encouraging πŸ’—!

Let's keep praising our God!! The best is yet to come!! Love and blessings to all 😊!!
