God Glow

When something is glowing, we notice it. When something is glowing, it catches our attention. When something is glowing, it cannot be hidden. A glow symbolizes light and warmth 😊. This past weekend, I had the amazing opportunity to attend a Women's Tea and be one of the speakers at the tea. The theme of the tea was "Women Who Remarkably Shine." I was so grateful and honored to attend the tea. The tea was an amazing and beautiful gathering of women who uplifted and encouraged one another! It had been a long time since I had attended a tea, so I loved every minute of it 💕! At the tea, I shared a little bit about me being a blogger, author, teacher, newspaper columnist, and little free library owner 😊. I also shared how I currently serve at my church as a Youth Leader and Youth Bible Study and Sunday School teacher. I also shared how I am in the process of a new chapter at my church- Minister in Training. I am so grateful for all God is doing and will do in my life 😊! God is always working even when we can't see it. After sharing about me, I then shared encouragement of how God can help us shine for Him. Today, I want to share that encouragement with you on how we can continue to have a God glow.

1. Make sure you have a relationship with God and keep working on it. We have to make sure we are praying, spending time in God's Word, giving thanks to God, and connecting with other believers. We have to make time for God every day 💕. Just like we make time to check our texts and social media posts, we need to make sure that we are checking in with God, so He can strengthen, help and grow us.

2. Small steps matter. Whether it is career or personal goals or our daily routine, the small steps matter. Ask the questions. Read the one page in the book. Walk five minutes outside for exercise. Drink enough water to stay hydrated. Get your daily rest because life can get busy! All the small steps matter because they add up to the big steps. Being a teacher assistant helped me because now I have my own classroom 😊. Keep taking small steps forward daily.

3. Surround yourself with the right people. We need to surround ourselves with people who uplift, encourage, celebrate and help us. People who are genuine and sincere need to be in our circle. We don't need to be around people who drain us, but rather, they pour into us and we can pour into them 💕. All ages need a village. Make sure you have the right village and can go to them about anything, big or small. Make sure you can laugh together, but you can also pray together.

4. Be you. We are fearfully and wonderfully made. We are unique. We are special, loved, and God's masterpiece. Let's bring our unique voice, style, and gifts to the tables we sit at. Whether it's your family, school, church, or community, bring your unique self. Be proud of who you are 😊.

One of my favorite verses I hold on to is Colossians 3:23 that says, "Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people." That reminds me that everything I do in my day has to be about God and point to Him. We have to remember our goal should be to please God at all times. Remember we have to "shine among them like stars in the sky (Philippians 2:15). Keep shining for God! Keep the God Glow 😊!! May God bless you all 💕!!
