Forever Grateful

 We have made it to the month of June 💛! Praise be to God!! He has been with me every step and moment of the way. I am so grateful!! As we enter into this second half of the year, I can take a glance back at the first half of my year and be grateful. God was with me in the ups and downs, hurts and healing, trying times and triumphs. I'm forever grateful for the moments spent with family and friends 😊. I'm forever grateful for the laughs, encouragement, conversation and connections. I'm forever grateful for the memories I have made so far. I'm forever grateful that I was able to start my own little free library in March. Every day, I look out the window at Jen's Little Free Library like a child at Christmas time 😀. Every time I look at it, I think about how God blessed me and allowed me to have it. I'm forever grateful for every book donation and individuals who have stopped by my library. You are very appreciated💚! I'm forever grateful that I was able to share about the "God Glow" at a women's tea earlier this year. That was an amazing and uplifting gathering of women! Having new experiences and connections have continued to grow and strengthen me. I'm forever grateful to still be here and experience life. I don't take life for granted because God didn't have to allow it to be so. I'm forever grateful for God's Word and His faithfulness. Time and time again, God always comes through!! God comes through in the big and small things in our lives 😊. God's promises are always Yes and Amen (II Corinthians 1:20). I'm forever grateful for God being by my side always. On the last day of May, I had the amazing opportunity to visit some of my favorite people: the local nursing home residents 😊! What a great way to close out the first half of the year!!  I got to see familiar faces, faces I hadn't seen for a while, and met a new resident. Visiting with the residents always reminds me that a hi and a smile go a long way 💛. To kick off June, I went on a field trip to the Virginia Museum of History and Culture in Richmond. It was my first time going there. It was really nice and such a beautiful day!! June is also my birthday month 💚. As I embrace a new season coming, I hold on to the Scripture Psalms 115:1 that says, "Not to us, Lord, not to us but to your name be the glory, because of your love and faithfulness." I can't wait to make new memories and have new adventures in this new chapter 😊! In this chapter, I will continue to hold on to God's love and faithfulness. I'm forever grateful!! Love and blessings to all!!

A Safe Place

 Where do you feel safe at? When do you feel safe? Who do you feel safe with? These are all questions we should ask ourselves on a daily basis 😊. Feeling safe is important to our well- being. Feeling physically and mentally safe means we feel protected and can be our genuine selves. A safe place is an environment where we feel free of judgement and feel at peace. A safe place will help us grow and thrive 💜. We can have authentic communication in that safe place. We don't have to hide our interests, mistakes, or dreams in that safe space. We can use our gifts and talents in that safe space. All of us should have at least one safe place in our lives. Safe places can be physical. My house is a safe space for me 😊. My comfy chair in my room is one of my favorite places to be as I read, write, talk on the phone, listen to music, pray or just sit in silence in it 💗. Another safe space for me is the library! Surrounded By Love

 We've made it midway through January 💖!! Can you believe it?! Praise God for blessing us to see this new year so far! In this season so far, I hope you have found glimmers of hope and peace. I hope you have found things and people to be thankful for 💖. January is a bittersweet, yet reflective month for me personally. I lost my Mom, my best friend, six years ago on January 18, 2020. Her birthday is January 26. Loss was not new to me as I had loss my Dad on April 14. 2002 and many other family members after that. It didn't make the loss any easier. My first real loss in my life was my Daddy and that was tough!!! My Daddy was my Math guy, my game man and the best Daddy a girl could have. Then when I lost Momma, both of my parents were gone and that hits even harder. As April 14, 2002 rocked my world, so did January 18, 2020.
