Pass It On

 In many families, different items are passed down from one generation to the next, such as recipes, jewelry, household items, and clothing. Physical possessions are good to pass down as they can be special and valuable to the family 😊. However, I started thinking about other things that can be passed down to generations after reading a particular Bible verse a while ago. The Bible verse is Judges 2:10 that says, "After that whole generation had been gathered to their ancestors, another generation grew up who knew neither the Lord nor what he had done for Isreal." First of all, that is a very sad and heartbreaking state to be in. That's a whole generation! That's a lot of people that didn't know God! You see, right before this verse, Joshua (a faithful leader of the people of Isreal) had passed away. After that, a whole generation did not know the Lord and did evil and forgot about God. The verse really had me thinking! In addition to passing down material possessions, let's pass down our faith in God. Let's not be ashamed to say we know God. Let's pass down values, mindsets and attitudes that are healthy and pleasing to God 😊. Let's pass down being respectful, hardworking and being grateful. Let's pass down stories of how God has helped us and continues to help us overcome in all situations we face. Let's pass down our stories of what God has done for us. I don't know about you, but God has done so much for ME!! When I look back and think about this present moment, I know it was God that kept me through it ALL! It hasn't always been easy, but I thank Him and glad I know Him for myself. Someone needs to hear our story. Someone needs to know of God's goodness in your life. Someone needs to know how you made it through the hills and valleys, the high and low moments of your life. We may not all work with a younger generation, but I'm sure we cross paths with people at the grocery store, movies, mall, restaurant, church, in our neighborhood, on social media that are in a generation after us. Instead of passing on gossip we hear, let's pass on the gospel instead that can change lives for the better. Let's pass on the good news of Jesus and how we can have a new life in him 💚. Let's make sure someone knows we love God and we live like we love God. Someone is looking up to us, whether we realize it or not. Someone may be waiting on us to share hope. Let's make sure we're passing on good things that is worth the next generation grabbing hold of 😊. Pass it on! Love and blessings to all!

Be Still

 I know...we do a lot of moving in our day! We can get a lot of steps in and that's a good thing 😊. Intentional physical movement throughout our day helps us to move our muscles and body and stretch.  Leading up to summer break, I moved to a new classroom. I'm still teaching 6th grade English, but in a different classroom. There was lots of back and forth movement to take items from my old class to my new class on the back hall. With lots of help, I got moved in! Even in the back and forth between the halls, I reminded myself to sit and stand for a minute. It was okay to be still. God worked everything out! It's the same in our lives. God will work everything out! Yes, there are times and moments that we need to move and be intentional about it. Yet, we also need to have moments of intentional stillness. We need moments where we sit and stand still. This could be in the morning, afternoon, or night or during all three times. Surrounded By Love

 We've made it midway through January 💖!! Can you believe it?! Praise God for blessing us to see this new year so far! In this season so far, I hope you have found glimmers of hope and peace. I hope you have found things and people to be thankful for 💖. January is a bittersweet, yet reflective month for me personally. I lost my Mom, my best friend, six years ago on January 18, 2020. Her birthday is January 26. Loss was not new to me as I had loss my Dad on April 14. 2002 and many other family members after that. It didn't make the loss any easier. My first real loss in my life was my Daddy and that was tough!!! My Daddy was my Math guy, my game man and the best Daddy a girl could have. Then when I lost Momma, both of my parents were gone and that hits even harder. As April 14, 2002 rocked my world, so did January 18, 2020.
