Are You The One?
It can be hard being the only One doing or saying something that is right. It can be hard being the only One dressed a certain kind of way or saying a different opinion than everyone else. Nevertheless, there are many times when being the only One can make a difference. In Luke 17:11-19, we see where One stood out among the rest. Jesus was walking through a town when 10 men who had leprosy cried out to Him to have mercy on them. Leprosy was a skin disease that could result in paralysis. People with leprosy were considered unclean and not allowed to be out among other people. However, Jesus didn't turn his back, but heard the cry of the these 10 lepers. As they begin to walk away from Jesus, all 10 men were healed from the leprosy. Only One of the men turned back to Jesus and told Him thank you. You see, while we may not have had leprosy, we all have had a condition that kept us spiritually bound and paralyzed, but Jesus delivered us from it. Our condition could have been health issues, past hurts, unforgiveness, low self-esteem, no job or issues on the job. Were we the One that said thank you or One of the 9 that didn't? We all still go through issues. On today, we can cry out to Jesus for Him to have mercy on us. He will help us and not turn His back on us. He wants to change our conditions for the better. Will we be the One who does right even when others are doing wrong? Will we be the One who walks away from the gossip and says "Let's pray for them" instead? Will we be the One who says I go to church and love Jesus when no one else wants to admit it? Let's be the One who forgives first. Let's be the One who loves first. Let's be the One who trusts God first. Let's be the One who helps others first. Let's be the One who prays, smiles, speaks up for what's right, looks up, doesn't give up, and is kind to ourselves and others. Most of all, let's be like the One leper who decided to give thanks.
In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. I Thessalonians 5:18
Good job Jen :)
