Show Up!

Many tasks and routines can fill up our 24 hour days. Some of those days are definitely busier than others! We are presented with opportunities and moments to be present at an event or attend a function. We are presented with moments to support others, but also take care of ourselves. In this season, I have been learning the importance of showing up πŸ’–. I am learning that it's important to show up in our present lives, but also for ourselves and others πŸ’–. There is power in showing up! Do we always feel like showing up for others? No! Do we always feel like showing up for ourselves? No! Do we always feel like showing up for life? No! Let me tell you, life can be hard. There are certain life circumstances that will rock and shake us to the very core πŸ™. Yet, it's in those moments that we have to rely on God and those who has sent in our lives even the more to press through and show up. We can be encouraged to be present even when we don't feel like it and it seems like there are distractions all around us. Someone is depending on us. Someone is counting on us. Something won't be said or done if we don't show up. Someone won't get encouragement, a hug, or a smile if we don't show up. Someone is looking for us. Our presence does make a difference 😊. Earlier this year, I had the opportunity to show up at a few youth basketball games on Saturdays to see my students and church youth play. It felt good to show up, not to mention it was fun! There were a few students I didn't get to say hi to after their game, but they saw me. One Monday after the weekend games, I told one of my students she had done a good job at her game that Saturday as I didn't get a chance to say hi to her after the game. She told me thank you and that she had saw me at the game. In a crowd full of people sitting on the bleachers in the gym, she still saw me. She noticed me. You are noticed πŸ‘πŸ’—!! That's a Word for someone on today! If you've ever felt unnoticed, I can relate because I have felt the same way before. Today, we can know though that we are seen 😊. In addition to the basketball games, I have also had the opportunity this year to show up for family celebrations, which were also lots of funπŸ’! I'm learning more than ever to show up for my people because I remember how God has sent and continues to send my people to show up for me. If you have ever showed up for me in any season of my life, I say thank you from the bottom of my heart!! I am forever grateful for you and your presenceπŸ’!! Now when I can, I show up at the event, function, game, meeting, or celebration. I have several celebrations coming up very soon with family and friends that I can't wait to show up for! When I can't show up in person, I show up by way of a phone call, encouraging text, email, or social media post, or send a card or letter. All of those still show you care. In the midst of showing up for others, don't forget to show up for you. What needs do you have? How can you keep taking care of you so you can be the best and healthiest version of you? We still have to take care of us well. We are still valuable and important too πŸ’–. Never forget that! Most importantly, keep showing up in this journey we call life. Keep putting one foot in front of the other. Keep doing the best you can. Look for ways to show up for you and others daily 😊. Every day counts. Every hour counts. Every minute counts. Every second counts. Every moment counts. Keep showing up because you are noticed and you matter πŸ’—! May God bless you all πŸ™πŸ’!!
