Goodness is In the Air!
Take a minute and look at your surroundings. What do you notice? What do you see? What do you hear? What do you smell? I want to stop right here because smell has inspired today's blog post π. Stay with me.. I promise I'm taking you somewhere! In fact, this all comes from a compliment a student asked me in class not long ago. I was collecting papers from students in my classroom. When I walked past one of my student's desks , she said, "Ms. Clark, you smell good." First, I told the young lady, "Thank you!" Then, I proceeded to tell her that I had some Japanese Cherry Blossom on and Dove, but that was it. I didn't have anything special on. I also said it was a good thing I smelled good π. The young lady said again that I smelled good. But, this time, she added something she didn't say before. She said I smelled like goodness! Now, when I tell you my whole face lit up smiling, it did π! I had never heard anyone say I smelled like goodness before! That was new π!! She is in my morning class, so you know that made my whole day as I couldn't stop thinking about it. Then, I started thinking about the Scripture, Psalms 23:6 that says, "Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever." Then, I got extra excited because the Word always excites me π. That's the goal- to have goodness and mercy following you! So, when you walk by people or you're out and about, goodness is following you. You see, others should notice a difference about us. Of course, I always do my best to physically smell good (you should too!), and the young lady in my class happened to point it out that day. However, smelling like goodness spiritually adds the icing on the cake π. Goodness is being upright and having moral standards. Goodness is one of the fruit of the Spirit that should be seen in our lives (Galatians 5:22-23). Is goodness following you? Is goodness following you every day or only when you're around certain people? We have to uphold moral and right standards wherever we go and no matter who we're with. I was having a conversation with a co-worker not long ago (the same week my student complimented me) and she was saying how she's the same everywhere you see her- the beach, store, etc. That's how it should be. However, that's not always the case with us as people sometimes. We should be ourselves everywhere π. We should do our best to live up to right standards everywhere. Goodness should follow us everywhere. Don't let rumors, gossip, and negativity stay in the air long around you. Let goodness fill the space you occupy. Let goodness fill your heart and mind π. Let goodness be in the air! God bless you!
Amen, Amen, AmenππΎππΎπ¦ Goodness and His Blessings! The sweet Smell of his Blessings, all over youπππ

DeleteThank you for the inspiration to do good things wherever you go and who you might encounter. Everyone is going through something and we don't know their story. So, be kind to people even if sometimes they might not be good to you. It might be hard sometimes but we can do it. God bless you Jen. ❤️
