Sunshine and Smiles
My spring break summed up in two words 😀!! Sunshine and smiles! Over the past week, I was blessed and fortunate enough to have a week off from work for my spring break. I enjoyed myself very much!! It kicked off with getting my hair done 💚. I got a new flat twist hairstyle that I love! Getting my hair done always leaves me so refreshed and with lots of smiles. I took the art class at church on Wednesday, and that was lots of fun! I painted my flowers, and they always make me smile. I enjoyed the days that the weather was nice outside, and the sun was shining bright. On those days, you could find me outside reading and walking at some point. If you rode by my house on one particular day (Friday, April 4th to be exact 😉), you would have seen me outside in my front yard blowing bubbles. Yes, you read that correctly! I was just as happy and content as I could be. I was enjoying the sunshine and smiling really big as I was blowing in the bubble wand and spinning around in a circle with the wand. I was having a real good time 💚!! Two days prior, on Wednesday, I intentionally went down the toy aisle of Walmart and brought a pack of bubbles 😊. You see, I loved blowing bubbles when I was younger. Also, when my Mom used to babysit kids, we would blow bubbles with them. So, blowing bubbles is very calming and comforting to me and brought back great memories because you know I miss my girl Momma Sylvia 💜. One day of my break, I enjoyed a girls' day out and went to the beach, dinner, and shopping. A beautiful day of sunshine and lots of smiles and laughs with the ladies that day 😊!! With me reading throughout the break, I finished another book 😊. One of my cousins came to visit one day and her and I had the best catching up! Over the weekend, I was able to celebrate with one of my sister cousins for her baby shower. It was lots of fun and definitely had me smiling a lot as I could celebrate on that sunshine day. Seeing family and friends come together was wonderful! My break wrapped up with my brother and I going to the local Daffodil Festival. It was the second time I had attended the event and I enjoyed it a lot 💛. Once again, there was lots of sunshine! I enjoyed walking around, grabbing a bite of eat and spending time with my brother. Our sibling time is even more cherished and important to me now that our Mom and Dad aren't here anymore. At the festival, I enjoyed seeing all the sights and people I knew. Overall on my break, I'm so grateful for the sunshine and smiles I experienced!! Not only is it something I desire when I'm on a break, but every day, I desire to enjoy sunshine and smiles. Now, I know that every day does not have sunshine and situations can look gloomy, but we can make the best of our situations and find something that makes us smile. Think about something if you need to, or pull up a picture that makes you smile 😊. It's about having the joy of the Lord and holding your head up high through it all. All my life situations have not and are not currently easy, but I'm grateful for my God that gives me joy (Nehemiah 8:10). My break was a great reminder to keep doing things that make me smile, be thankful for the big and small blessings, spend time with family and friends, get fresh air and sunshine as often as I can, and take care of me. May you also be encouraged to do the same. May we intentionally embrace the sunshine and smiles 💛. May we intentionally embrace joy and spread joy. Don't forget to give some smiles away also 😉!! May God bless you all and love you all!!
Yes! It cost you nothing too smile 😊
