Stay F.I.T.
Many people have a goal of wanting to be in good physical shape. Most of us want to be able to walk, work, play, or dance for a certain amount of time without getting out of breath easily. Being physically fit is great as we should definitely take care of the bodies God has given us (I Corinthians 6:19-20). It is good to exercise as often and consistent as we can. Now, exercise is just one part of taking care of ourselves. There's also eating right foods, drinking enough water, and getting enough rest and sleep. I'm constantly working on these π. In addition to being physically fit, I want to share the acronym F.I.T. with you to be mindful of other ways we can take care of ourselves. Let's look at the F first. The F stands for Focused. When we focus on something or someone, we look at or concentrate on it. What we're focused on has our attention. Proverbs 4:25 says, "Let your eyes look forward; fix your gaze straight ahead." What has your attention today? Now, I'm going to be honest - many days, my mind is on several different things! Perhaps you can relate. However, I'm constantly reminding myself to give attention to one thing at a time and only the things that matter. Let's focus on taking care of ourselves and what's in front of us in this present moment, this present day π. Let's focus on what's right and doing what's right. Some things are not worth our attention- drama, small stuff, what people think of us, and competition with others are among them. Let's make sure every day we focus on what matters. The next letter is I and stands for Intentional. There's a purpose for everything we do. Let's make sure we are living life on purpose π. We have to check our motives to make sure they're right. We have to be intentional about loving people and being kind to others. Say hi. Hold the door open for someone. Ask how someone is doing. Call or text someone to check in. Give a hug to someone. Let's be intentional in how that may look in our daily routines. Let's be intentional about taking care of our bodies and looking our best as it was mentioned earlier. Let's be intentional about spending time with God and enjoying interests/hobbies. Let's be intentional about going outside and getting fresh air. Let's be intentional about planning and spending time with family and friends. Let's be intentional about having fun and enjoying life π. We may have to organize our space differently or go to a whole new spot (my porch is my new favorite spot to read and relax π!) I know some things happen unplanned and spontaneous when it comes to fun and that's okay too! When possible, let's plan and be intentional on purpose. The last letter is T and that stands for Truthful. We have to be truthful to ourselves and others. Everything and everybody is not for us and that's okay. I know it doesn't always feel like it will be okay, but it will because God knows who and what you need in your life. He knows best π. Everything doesn't need our yes. We have to be truthful about how we're feeling and how we're doing in taking care of ourselves. We have to be our true selves. I know I have said this quote before, but it's worth sharing as it's definitely my new motto..."No matter what room I step in, I'm coming as ME." That's being truthful to who you are. Your people will love the real, truthful you π. Let's hold on to the truth of God's Word, so we can think on it and live it out in our daily lives (Philippians 4:8). So, let's stay F.I.T. daily! Let's be Focused, Intentional, and Truthful. Blessings and love to all!
