Choose Faithfulness

Happy February 😊! Two things come to my mind when I think about February: love and Black History Month 💝!! Love is thought of as Valentine's Day in is this month. Valentine's Day is officially set aside to celebrate love, even though love should be shown all year long. Black History Month is officially celebrated this month, but it should also be celebrated all year long. When I think about how they relate to each other, both involve individuals who care about someone or something. Both involve individuals whose actions and commitments are seen. Both involve individuals who choose faithfulness. When we think about the definition of faithfulness, it's about being true to one's word or commitments. It's about being loyal and steadfast. It's about being unwavering and refusing to give up and change course. I love Black History Month not just this month, but every month 💝!! I'm grateful for all who paved the way for me to be where I am today. I am so grateful to God for keeping them through the times they lived through. Examples include low quality textbooks at schools, not being able to read or write, not being able to vote, having to go to the back door of places and sitting at the back of the bus, just to name a few. They didn't give up because they wanted better and knew future generations needed better also. When we think about love (for ourselves and others), we want the best and show care and support 😊. We hang in there through the thick and thin, through the good and bad. Every day, we have a choice to love and be committed to do what's right. We have a choice to stay steady and unwavering in our faith in God. Hebrews 10:23 says, "Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful." I believe those who came before us held on to hope. So should we! Our hope is that our God is faithful and always keeps His promises! Psalm 146:6 says, "He is the Maker of heaven and earth, the sea and everything in them- he remains faithful forever." Thank you God for being faithful! As we continue to move into this new month, let's think about how we can keep choosing faithfulness every day 😊. It's faithfulness in the big and small things. It's faithfulness in working on dreams and goals. It's faithfulness in showing up and taking care of you. It's faithfulness in showing up and doing your best. Psalm 119:30 says, "I have chosen the way of faithfulness; I have set my heart on your laws." Every day, let's choose faithfulness and God's way! We can't wrong when we do! Love and blessings to all!

*A February treasure that I'm looking forward to is my students get to share Black History Month highlights on the morning announcements 😊💝!! I'm so excited 😊!!
